David grew up in Maryland and holds a Chemical Engineering degree from Carnegie-Mellon University. He retired in 2013 after a 37-year career with a major petrochemical company focusing on R&D, strategic planning, business process change, and systems integration. Since retiring, he has worked as a consultant on global supply chain projects. David has lived in the Clear Lake area for over 30 years. He has previously served on his community association board and as a BAYCAP citizen representative. He is an active participant in his church and in several conservation organizations.  David is excited to see Exploration Green develop as a first-class amenity for the Clear Lake community.

Jose joined the Executive Board of EGC as Treasurer in the summer of 2020. He was born in Brownsville, Texas, and graduated from Texas A&M with a BBA in Accounting. He has been in the Houston area since 1987 where he started in the oil and gas industry and then joined NASA. He has been with NASA for 30 years and has been a Financial Analyst and Accountant. Jose enjoys fitness activities and running in marathons and half-marathons. As Treasurer for the Exploration Green Conservancy, he is able to combine his financial background and his love of the outdoors.

Paul was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, and graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla (now Missouri University of Science and Technology).  Following a job transfer that brought Paul to the Clear Lake area in 1991, he attended the University of Houston-Clear Lake, graduating with a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) in 1996.  During the 1990’s, he served as a board member for the University Green Townhome Owners Association and as an election judge for his voting precinct.  In the late 1990’s Paul began working as a construction volunteer for Bay Area Habitat for Humanity, which builds decent, affordable housing for families that cannot qualify for conventional loans.  He later also served as a Board member for six years, the maximum allowed by the by-laws.  Paul and his family have lived in Oakbrook West since 2003.  He views the Exploration Green project as a means by which to retrofit amenities modern developments take for granted onto the nearly 50-year old core of Clear Lake, to maintain a vibrant community and prevent decline.

​Elizabeth Del Bosque and her husband purchased their home on the former defunct golf course in 2006 when it was still uncertain what would become of the land.  Hoping for the best, they rolled the dice that residential and commercial development would never happen.  She eagerly became involved in the Exploration Green project after attending a town hall event in 2012 and signed up to volunteer on the landscape committee.  In 2018 she was invited to become a member of the executive board and serves on several committees and subcommittees including Events, Communications & Outreach, and Education.  She has been one of the organizers of the Glow-the Green events, community Town Halls, Wetland Walkabout, Earth Day, and Squawk Walk.  Elizabeth has also volunteered with tree planting and can often be seen picking up litter along the shoreline of Phase 2.

Mike joined Exploration Green Conservancy in 2017 and is one of the original members of the Projects Committee. His group’s responsibilities include amenities such as benches, waste receptacles, and donor recognition plaques. Mike’s roots in the rural southwest gave him a strong appreciation for the outdoors and he has taken daily hikes with his dog through Exploration Green for many years. When Mike moved his family to Clear Lake City 30 years ago, he and his sons played golf on the course that has become Exploration Green. He’s now proud to serve with the group that is guiding the land’s metamorphosis to a more natural and accessible form.Mike works full time in industrial distribution and part-time as a Realtor. He confirms that his experience with Clear LakeCity residential property proves that Exploration Green is a positive addition to a well-established community that not only enhances the lives of long-time residents but promises to attract new families for many years.

John and his family are 35 year residents of Clear Lake City.  He retired as the logistics manager for a large chemical company and now spends his time doing community service and serves as vice president of the Clear Lake City Water Authority board of directors.  He currently serves as president elect of Space Center Rotary Club.  John has served as president of the Clear Lake City Civic League, was first president of the national board of directors for U.M. ARMY (Methodist youth organization which repairs homes of people in need), former Cubmaster of Cub Scout Pack 869 and assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 848, president of board for Clear Lake City Stars swim team, several terms as chairman of the Administrative Board at Clear Lake United Methodist Church, assistant coach of numerous youth soccer and baseball teams, and served five years on the National Selection Panel of the US Dept. of Education Blue Ribbon School Program.  He is a veteran and served as an officer in the Army. John is very proud of what the CLCWA has been able to accomplish for the local area by maintaining low cost and high service levels and is excited about what the WA and Exploration Green Conservancy can achieve to enhance the quality of life in the Clear Lake area.

In his professional career, he has dedicated 51+ years to NASA.  Currently, he serves as the Chief Scientist in the Software, Robotics, and Simulation Division at NASA/JSC.  Bob has been presented with numerous NASA awards including the Exceptional Service Medal and received the Presidential Medal of Freedom as a member of the Apollo 13 operations team.  Additionally, the Rotary National Award for Space Achievement Foundation presented him with a prestigious Stellar Award in 2007 with the following citation “Extended, exemplary career advancing technology and furthering NASA’s critical interests in software, robotics, and navigation systems, affecting space missions from Apollo through the return to the Moon.” Bob's community service includes serving as a board member of the Clear Lake City Water Authority (CLCWA).  As a director of the CLCWA he played a major role in developing one of the first state-of-the-art regional waste water processing facilities using ultraviolet sterilization (now known as the “Robert T. Savely Water Reclamation Facility”).   As a member of the CLCWA Drainage Committee, his goal was to establish a Conservation Easement for the area to be managed by the Exploration Green Conservancy. Achieving this goal,he is highly motivated to serve on the board of the Conservancy which he believes has an excellent opportunity to improve the quality of life for the residents of the area.

Mary Carol joined the Exploration Green team as a stormwater wetland specialist with Texas Community Watershed Partners/Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service. Some of her contributions were designing and operating the Exploration Green wetland nursery where thousands of plants have been raised for the stormwater treatment wetlands, and hundreds of volunteers and students have participated. Mary Carol recently founded Green Star Wetland Plant Farm to provide wetland plants for other projects, such as conservation, mitigation, water quality, and landscape sites. She has previously worked at TCWP’s freshwater wetland restoration program, at landscape design and landscape architecture firms, and also in genetics labs at Baylor College of Medicine and Rice University. Mary Carol is a Houston native, raised in the Bay Area. She has a BS in Biology and an MA in Architecture from the University of Houston and enjoys bringing both disciplines together in projects like Exploration Green, incorporating nature in the built environment.

Doug has long volunteered for environmental and political organizations. His involvement in creating the Clear Lake green space began several years ago, and is built on about a decade of volunteer work with the Sierra Club and connecting environmental and political groups. A senior communications strategist at NASA/Johnson Space Center, he has broad experience and leadership in public affairs, media relations, strategic communications and outreach, especially associated with NASA astronauts. With degrees in Public Affairs and Political Science Doug has long been active in political campaigns and activities for progressive issues and candidates. Initially a volunteer on the hike and bike volunteer committee, he can’t wait for that first run on a  new trail along the ponds of our public Space, Exploration Green!

Frank was born and raised in Missouri, and moved to the greater Houston area in 1969. He retired in 2006 after 36 years with a major petrochemical company having held various positions in engineering, management and technology management. After moving to Clear Lake in 1989, Frank worked with his local community association for nearly twenty years. He also serves in numerous other volunteer activities including Keep Houston Beautiful (Past Commissioner), AARP Tax-Aide (local coordinator), his company retiree club (past president), the Association of Clear Lake Communities (at-large representative and co-facilitator), and his church. His association with Exploration Green dates from 2005, and he served as co-chair of the site Advisory Committee before being asked to serve as president of Exploration Green Conservancy. He wants to participate in the development of an attractive recreation facility, improving local property values and used by people throughout the greater Bay Area. He hopes to help lay the foundation for continued operation and improvement of the site for all future generations.
