Trees are truly a special feature of the Exploration Green today and even more so in the future. We work hard to ensure a beautiful recreation space that is home to hundreds, even thousands of native trees. Current trees, originally planted along golf course fairways will be maintained in most cases, and thousands of donated trees from Trees for Houston will be nurtured and then planted throughout the area.

 

An onsite tree nursery has been established and has provided the first thousand trees acclimating to the Clear Lake environment and growing --- 2,000 more will arrive in the coming months!!

 

As each phase's excavation and land-forming is completed, landscaping activities will call for many volunteer activities to plant trees, shrubs and grasses.
