What are the basic rules of use for Exploration Green?

This area has been acquired by the Clear Lake City Water Authority (CLCWA) to establish storm water detention and improve area drainage facilities.

Hours are from dawn to disk daily and visitors are subject to the rules listed below.

Violation of these rules can be subject to arrest and prosecution.

  1. No littering or dumping

  2. No motorized vehicles or watercraft, except for approved maintenance vehicles.

  3. No alcoholic beverages, drugs, or glass containers.

  4. No golfing, fishing, hunting, or unlawful use of or carrying of weapons.

  5. No fires, camping, or fireworks.

  6. No permanent sports structures.

  7. Stay at least 50 yards away from grass mowers.

  8. All animals must be on a leash 6 feet or less and under direct control of owner.  Pet owners are required to pick up after their pets.

  9. No swimming at any time.

  10. Destroying or removing public property is prohibited.

  11. Special events require permit for use, including planned or organized events.*

  12. Solicitation and sales of goods and services without permission is prohibited.

  13. Do not feed or harass the birds or other wildlife.

  14. Beware of snakes, alligators, and other wildlife.

  15. Be courteous to others.

  16. Use park amenities for their intended purpose.
