Getting Involved

Exploration Green is a partnership between the Clear Lake City Water Authority (CLCWA) and the Exploration Green Conservancy (EGC).  The CLCWA excavates the stormwater detention lakes and provides basic seeding and mulching of the phases as they are developed.  The EGC is then responsible for planting donated trees and wetland plants, and rising funds for amenities and ongoing maintenance.

Volunteers are the backbone of the Exploration Green Conservancy, caring for trees and wetland plants in the on-site nurseries, transplanting them to the completed phases following excavation, and serving on the board and committees.

Exploration Green is not a city or county park, and receives no government funding for amenities or ongoing maintenance.

EGC raises funds from individuals, local businesses, civic groups, and corporations to fund amenities such as benches, pet waste stations, and trash cans.
