What is my company’s Return on Investment (ROI) if we partner with Exploration Green?
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the Exploration Green Conservancy cannot offer a financial ROI. Your partnership with Exploration Green can offer the following returns:
Public Visibility
Dozens if not several hundred people use Exploration Green every day for walking, running, bicycling, and bird watching. It is located in the heart of Clear Lake, accessible to most people simply by walking or riding several blocks, or maybe a short drive. It is free and open to the public year-round.
Your partnership will be seen by many, who will not have to drive a distance to get to it or pay to enter.
Regional Resilience
The Houston area is prone to flooding due to tropical cyclones and sometimes just a clash of weather fronts. After many years, many projects to mitigate these effects are still in the discussion or early planning phases. Exploration Green protected the Clear Lake Area from Hurricane Harvey, Tropical Storm Imelda, and Hurricane Nicholas, plus many other non-named heavy rainfall events.
Your partnership will back leading-edge project with proven results. Exploration Green has been cited as a benchmark in flood mitigation in both a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) case study and Texan By Nature (TxN) case study.

Sustainability
Exploration Green is “un-developing” a former golf course to construct a nature preserve. Non-native and sometimes invasive species that had been planted to make the golf course more visually appealing are being removed and replaced with native species. These native species are attracting birds, amphibians, and other species that had been pushed out in the past.
Your partnership will restore to Clear Lake what had existed in the past and create a living classroom for local schools.
Employee Pride and Engagement
Many employees of the aerospace and petrochemical industry live in the Clear Lake area. They and their neighbors enjoy the benefits of enhanced flood protection and a local green space.
